Rapper Kevin Gates is accused of financially ignoring his children

Kevin Gates has faced allegations regarding his financial responsibilities in relation to parenting.

The rapper’s estranged wife, Dreka, is in court seeking to recover the full amount he owes her in child and spousal support, which is quite significant.

Rapper Kevin Gates and his ex-wife, Dreka, ended their relationship in July, after spending ten years together and welcoming two children into the world.

Kevin Gates’ former partner alleged that he has outstanding tax debts amounting to seven figures.

The songwriter’s estranged wife detailed in her filing that the family’s financial circumstances were greatly affected when he ceased meeting crucial obligations, such as paying property taxes and their children’s tuition, in 2021.

Dreka is now seeking a court order for Gates to settle the outstanding amount, given that he possesses the means to indulge in 18 luxury vehicles and a $4.7 million expansive estate in Calabasas. 

She is requesting that the rapper establish a payment plan of $27,193 monthly for child support and $46,274 monthly for spousal support.

TMZ has confirmed, referencing court documents, that the rapper’s ex informed the court that their Mississippi farm is currently facing foreclosure following a levy for $7 million in unpaid taxes. 

Dreka also raised significant custody concerns.

The rapper’s estranged wife also made a significant request from the judge regarding the welfare of their two children, Islah and Khaza. Dreka sought to establish herself as the primary physical custodian of their two children.

The musician’s ex remarked that if the arrangement were not intended to be long-term, she would accept a temporary solution that ensured the children’s well-being. Dreka, in her agitation, stressed that the children have already spent 95% of their time with her since 2023.

Meanwhile, Gates has responded to the filing by asserting that since they were never legally married, Dreka’s requests are unfounded. His legal team was said to be adopting a position that lacked factual basis in addressing the financial and custody demands.

In the two photos he shared, LeBron and Savannah were exchanging smiles and embracing after what appears to be one of his games. The basketball player emphasized that a king’s role is unrelated to the perspectives of the peasantry.

He concluded the post by giving a shoutout to his beloved wife, while fans criticized Kevin for having the audacity to comment on a family he is unfamiliar with. The fans highlighted that Savannah bore no resemblance to the “groupies” who usually dote on athletes.
