Post Malone is facing a lawsuit for more than $10 million for a music video from 2020

Is Post Malone going to have a significant decline in his net worth?

Following his performance in a music video, the musician was accused of not fulfilling a financial obligation, which led to his limo driver bringing a lawsuit against him.

Hee Sung ‘Jamie’ Park, Post Malone’s ex-girlfriend and baby mama, dropped the Los Angeles portion of their ongoing custody dispute shortly before Malone filed his final complaint.

Inside the New Limo Driver Lawsuit Filed Against Post Malone

According to reports, the pop diva was included in a fresh complaint that Larry Deuel, a teacher and part-time limo driver, filed on Friday in Utah’s Fourth District Court.

In his lawsuit, the driver stated that he was invited by Malone and another performer, Tyla Yaweh, to be featured in a music video for their 2020 song “Tommy Lee.”

According to him, Malone asked him to drive him to the property where the video was being shot, and in the end, he was asked to appear in the pictures. He did so, Deuel clarified, on the understanding that Malone and Yaweh would fulfill their financial commitment to him.

The driver remembered participating in numerous situations in the video, such as unlocking the car doors, unrolling a carpet, and even standing next to the limousine.

His contribution was crucial in bringing the idea of wealth, power, and celebrity privilege to life, as the two artists’ personalities reflected, he stressed in the lawsuit.

Deuel disclosed to The Daily Mail that all of the assurances that he would be paid immediately were canceled, and the money never arrived.

The lawsuit, according to Larry Deuel, is his last option.

In the case, Deuel asserts that he has never consented to a release that would have allowed Malone or Yaweh to use his name, likeness, or image in the video.

Commercially released, the video has received over 97 million views on YouTube and hundreds of millions of streams on Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Amazon.

In addition to other claims, Deuel is currently suing both artists for unjust enrichment, breach of contract, fraudulent inducement, and name and likeness infringement. Ten million dollars in punitive penalties, including profit disgorgement, are also sought in the complaint.

Deuel attempted to settle the conflict in private for five years, according to the complaint. As far back as 2020, it involved a number of attempts to gain recognition with Sony, Better Noise Music, Malone’s management, and Malone himself.

A letter was delivered to Malone’s residence in Utah in August 2025, according to Deuel, but the security guards allegedly laughed it off and refused to accept it.

Tommy Lee’s carefree life was honored in the song by Post Malone and Tyla Yaweh.

Because Lee was a member of the Mötley Crüe drumming group, fans of the band would undoubtedly recognize the song’s memorable moniker. In a backstage tour of the creative process, Yaweh showed listeners how the song was written and recorded in Los Angeles and Washington, DC, according to NME.

Yaweh clarified that the song basically encapsulated the experience of living life and spreading blessings along the way. As the motivation for the song, which was released on June 12, 2020, the rapper complimented Lee’s capacity to do just that.

Yaweh talked on the experience of working with the singer, despite the fact that he was signed to Malone’s record label at the time of their collaboration on the album. As he claims:

“I’m content to just watch. As I observe, I gain knowledge. He simply supports me no matter what and is involved in all of this.”

For the 30-year-old in the ongoing custody case, things are looking up.

Recently, the producer prevailed in a legal battle with his ex-wife over custody of their daughter. In California, Malone and his legal team had prepared to contest Park’s application for physical custody of their daughter.

According to The Blast, Park ultimately took the case off the side and concentrated on obtaining physical custody in Utah. The dispute was shifted back to Utah, where Malone had first filed his own complaint and where he allegedly began to gain ground.

It was surprising that Park had initially relocated to California, considering the state typically allows larger child support payments than Utah.

After their breakup at the end of 2024, close insiders said Malone’s ex moved to Los Angeles in order to settle there and pursue a higher salary. Although Malone’s Utah filings are confidential, the tactic appears to work.
