Brandy explains her abrupt cancellation of her concert with Monica, claiming she almost fainted
Brandy talked about almost passing out during her performance on The Boy Is Mine Tour with Monica in Chicago.
Speaking up, Brandy discusses the medical emergency that forced her to leave the stage in the middle of a song and end her performance with Monica on the Boy Is Mine Tour.
For their third road trip together, Monica and Brandy performed live in Chicago on Saturday, October 18. As previously reported by BOSSIP, Brandy abruptly left the stage without giving a reason while playing “Baby” and never came back. Brandy finally spoke after a day of conjecture, bewilderment, and prayers for the missing diva.
The “Almost Doesn’t Count” actress shared the details of the incident that almost led to her fall onstage on Instagram on Sunday. She thanked her fans for “the overwhelming love, support, and — most importantly — your prayers” in a statement she shared on Stories.
“I genuinely regret that last night’s performance in Chicago ended so abruptly. Last night, after weeks of relentless practices, I felt like I was about to pass out from dehydration. She talked about attempting to persevere for the fans, saying, “Everyone involved agreed that prioritizing my well-being was of the utmost importance.”
Even though I didn’t feel well, I decided to attempt to go back and give it my all. Unfortunately, it was not feasible to fully engage sonically with the production due to the need for some alterations and the technical nature of the presentation. “Everyone’s best efforts are greatly appreciated,” she added.
After around half an hour, Monica unexpectedly ended the concert by herself. The “U Should’ve Known Better” star spoke passionately about the privilege of performing with Brandy. After she finished performing her solo hits, fans were left wanting the Grammy-winning duet that gave the tour its name.
In her message, Brandy praised her sister in song for keeping the concert going while she sought medical attention. The show had been in the works for 27 years.
I’m incredibly appreciative of my sister Monica’s professionalism and poise in stepping up, as well as the crew’s ongoing support and care. I saw a local doctor after leaving the arena, and I’ve taken the right procedures to help me going forward.
“I am so grateful for your patience, understanding, and steadfast faith. The Cinderella princess said, “I’m excited to go back on stage with my girl, Monica, tonight in Indianapolis, stronger and more thankful than ever.”
Supporters who understood that the committed takes pride in arriving and presenting themselves as a polished professional are greatly relieved by Brandy’s explanation. Before the “vocal Bible” missed a beat or a note, something serious would have to happen. Our favorite seems to have been working a bit too hard. Thankfully, she will be back on stage for the upcoming performance in Indianapolis.
