Njerae comes back with a surprise EP called “Four Letter Word (Deluxe)”

Multidisciplinary Njerae, a Kenyan singer-songwriter, performer, and record producer, released an unexpected EP. The EP, titled “Four Letter Word (Deluxe),” features four brand-new songs:

TRACKLIST:

  1. 1.Gone ft. Preston Pablo
  2. 2.Colors ft. Bensoul
  3. 3.Decide (Remix) ft. Hokima
  4. 4.Fight For You (Remix) ft. Kobby Worldwide

Njerae has expanded her audio palette by collaborating with many artists, embracing novel sounds and an unexplored artistic approach. Njerae uses Afro-House as a genre on “Decide (Remix)” and “Fight For You (Remix),” while Canadian pop crooner Preston Pablo adds his Pop sensibilities to the loud cut “Gone.” Kenyan hitmaker Bensoul is brought in for the Afro-Pop-tinged song “Colors.”

“I feel like I’m breathing more deeply with the deluxe—I’m extending the universe I created with the initial project. It’s more lighthearted, intimate, and self-assured. I wanted to demonstrate the various facets of love, including self-love, submission, and growth, in addition to the romantic variety. Njerae explains, “The songs flow through strength and softness, like a conversation between who I was when I started the project and who I’ve become now.”

Records like “Colors” highlight Njerae’s more gregarious and vivacious side, “Gone” displays her soulful edge, and “Decide (Remix) and Fight For You (Remix)” capture her audacious belief to experiment with the more dance-heavy realm of electronic music.

The original “Decide” is remixed by American producer Hokima, who gives it extra passion and intensity.

Above all, I wanted those who were listening to feel heard. to identify with the song in some way, whether it be via the healing, the groove, or the vulnerability.

Following her participation in Kenyan heavyweight Bien’s “Alusa Continua Tour,” a nationwide tour, and her first international performance at the Blankets & Wine UK Edition in Bradford, England, as well as the cumulative 3.7 million streams of her EP “Four Letter Word,” Njerae is as self-assured, vulnerable, and reflective as she could be on her most recent record. While Hokima makes his record debut with Njerae on “Decide (Remix),” production by “Beg For It” beatsmith Kobby Worldwide is a striking element on tracks like “Gone,” “Colors,” and “Fight For You (Remix),” demonstrating the projects’ groundedness.
