Nicki Minaj’s debt in her husband’s assault case may cost her dearly

Nicki Minaj’s home may be affected by the fallout from her and her husband Kenneth Petty’s behavior.

Due to her failure to pay a man her husband reportedly attacked, the rapper could lose her $20 million Los Angeles property. The pair is refusing to pay the $500,000 given to the battered security guard for the incident that happened during her concert in Germany in 2019 and could have been resolved.

Since they have both been sued for various offenses, Nicki Minaj and her hubby are no strangers to legal proceedings. She was sued earlier this year for allegedly engaging in physical violence with her former manager.

To pay off their debt, Nicki Minaj’s husband’s accusers are aiming guns at her house.

Minaj might have to pay for Petty’s alleged attack of a guy in 2019 with her $20 million Los Angeles property. The rapper and her husband have refused to pay the court-ordered amount for damages, which was decided in his favor, according to court documents filed by Thomas Weidenmüller, the assaulted security officer.

By listing Minaj’s eleven-bedroom Hidden Hills mansion for sale, Weidenmüller has requested the court to assist him in collecting the money. According to the paperwork, the residence has a $722,151 homestead exemption and a $13,258,000 mortgage lien, for a total of slightly over $14 million.

According to the court records, Weidenmüller’s legal team asserts that the rapper’s home is currently worth around $20 million, therefore the sale would generate more than enough money with interest.

According to the court filings, which Page Six received, Minaj is a worldwide music phenomenon, the highest-paid female rap artist in the world, and her estimated net worth ranges from $150 million to $190 million.

Inside the Kenneth Petty assault case

Petty has a history of court disputes because he is a registered sexual offender and is currently being sued for assault. Petty sucker punched Weidenmüller in the jaw, according to Weidenmüller, a security guard who was in charge of security that fatal night during Minaj’s 2019 concert in Germany.

The altercation happened when the pop artist allegedly called a female security guard “a f-cking b-tch” for permitting a male fan to enter the stage during her performance.

As head of security, he intervened to try to resolve the conflict, comforting the sobbing guard and attempting to talk to the “Anaconda” singer, who he says also hurled a shoe at him and yelled.

He further says that before Petty suddenly jumped him and hit him in the jaw, she verbally abused him in her room. He reportedly had eight surgeries, including the insertion of five plates into his face, after the hit cracked his jaw.

According to reports, the rapper refused to pay the settlement.

Weidenmüller was awarded $503,318 in damages under a default judgment in March; this amount is rising as a result of their nonpayment.

According to the Blast reports, Weidenmüller states in his court filings that he has not received any funds for the assault settlement he was given, and that interest has subsequently accumulated to more than $20,000.

The power couple may wind up paying more than they originally agreed to, so it appears that their refusal to pay the initial sum is hurting them more than it is helping.

There is little question that the rapper can pay the judgment in full given her status, but she has refused to do so in spite of numerous formal demands for payment and levies imposed on a number of her suspected creditors.

Minaj was sued again after a violent altercation.

Brandon Garrett, Minaj’s former manager, filed a legal case against her earlier this year, alleging that she had a physical altercation with him at one of her US tour dates.

Garrett maintained that his accusations were true, even though Minaj was not taken into custody because there was insufficient evidence to establish that she had committed the crime. He believes that when she performed on the Detroit leg of her “Gag City” tour in April 2024, she got hostile toward him, according to reports from The Blast.

Garrett said that when she found out that he had sent someone else to pick up her prescriptions, the rapper became aggressive with him. He claimed that she struck him on the right side of his face with an open palm before her security detail surrounded him, demonstrating that her violence did not end with words. The former manager further asserts that he was left abandoned in Detroit by Minaj’s staff.

Are Nicki Minaj’s feelings regarding entitlement the reason behind her refusal to pay the settlement fee?

The pop artist posted a message on her Instagram stories during the first quarter of the year about people who feel entitled and want to get money that they did not earn.

“Most people don’t want to earn money,” the rapper stated in her debut post. In the second post, she described to her followers how entitled people act, saying, “They want to be given the money that you’ve had to earn.”

The republished articles elicited mixed reactions from fans, with some praising her and others criticizing her, implying that she was subtly addressing her sister, with whom she has a tense relationship.
