Dolly Parton’s sister wants fans to pray for the famous country singer
The 9 to 5 hitmaker announced last week that she needed a “few procedures” to address “health challenges,” and her younger sibling Freida Parton asked her fans to pray for her. As a result, she postponed her planned Las Vegas residency.
In a Facebook post, Freida stated: “I prayed for my sister, Dolly, all night long last night. As many of you are aware, she hasn’t been feeling well lately.
“I have been moved to ask everyone who loves her to join me in prayer and be prayer warriors because I firmly believe in the power of prayer.”
In closing, Frieda used a positive tone.
She is loved and strong, and I believe deep down that she will be okay because of all the prayers being said for her, she continued.
“Good luck, Dolly, my sissy.” Everyone loves you!
Frieda went on to say that she never intended for her request to pray for Dolly to “scare anyone.”
“I would like to clarify something,” she added. When I prayed for Dolly, I didn’t try to frighten anyone or come across as overly serious.
Dolly, 79, delayed her December 2026 scheduled residency in Las Vegas to September 2026 due to health concerns.
The Jolene singer posted on Instagram: “As many of you are aware, I’ve been dealing with some health issues, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. My beloved husband Carl Dean passed away earlier this year.” I told them that even though it’s not my regular visit to see my plastic surgeon, it must be time for my 100,000 check-up!
Parton went on, saying, “I am not going to be able to practice and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see, given this.”
“You spend a lot of money to watch me perform, so I want to give it my all for you.”
And don’t worry about me quitting the business since God hasn’t said anything about it yet,” Dolly continued. But in order to be prepared for further exciting adventures with all of you, I think he is urging me to slow down now.
