A sensational Australian-Arabic singer Nadia on her new music, art, and how versatile she is as an artist
The Australian singing sensation is undeniably a powerful presence, and that is putting it mildly. A songwriter, poet, producer, and amateur sound engineer, she is best described as a multidisciplinary creative.
The singer, who has Arabian ancestry, is exceptionally creative. With a new EP released and an even larger body of work in progress, she sat down with The Sauce for more insights on what she has planned.
“My writing approach is deeper and more significant, infused with a touch of melancholia.” I create and perform in Afrobeats while also exploring my Arabian heritage. I have a preference for the alto genre of vocals. As a songwriter, I have the opportunity to explore various genres, which has proven to be a significant advantage for me,” she shares with The Sauce, mentioning Raye and Amy Winehouse as key inspirations.
Nadia has released a new four-part EP in collaboration with producers LogicHitIt and UK-based Rwandese-Congolese producer Made Beats. “We all agreed to work on a collaborative EP, which I must say was incredibly enjoyable,” Nadia reflects on the project.
“I have been given the gift of writing, allowing me to assist others in finding their voice, which I believe is a profoundly healing journey and a valuable tool.” My primary focus is on establishing a safe environment for creatives to learn and develop, while also seeking out new artists and assisting them with their music. This is why I frequently explore the East African region, which feels like home to me,” she adds.
Nadia envisions a future where she can explore music healing and therapy, believing that music serves as a source of therapy not only for listeners but also for its creators. She is diligently working on a new album that she aptly characterizes as Neosoul, assuring fans that it will be worth every listen.
