Cardi B Explains Why Her Offset Divorce Isn’t Completed
“This is not no love s**t…”
Cardi B has disclosed the reason behind the pending divorce from her estranged husband Offset, asserting that her soon-to-be spouse is financially holding her “hostage.”
The Grammy-winning femcee discussed the ongoing legal struggle and her dating situation in a recent Spaces interview on X.
“I’m having a child with another person. So what? That occurs. It’s life,” she started, alluding to her fourth and first pregnancies with boyfriend Stefon Diggs.
“I’ll tell you something: I proceeded correctly the first time. I developed a romantic interest. My finger has two rings on it. Seven years passed, and I didn’t have to spend those years with anyone. The marriage I was in lasted seven years. “Oh, but you’re still married.” Stop saying that. No, I’m legally not together.
The only reason I’m still married, Cardi said, is because someone wants me to pay their taxes. Are you interested in the tea? If I give someone one of my properties and pay for their taxes even if I pay my own, that’s the only way I can leave my marriage.
She is, to be honest, fighting to keep from getting that money. “I will battle for that.” I’m virtually still married because of a contract, and I’m not going to stop living my life because someone wants to hold me hostage unless I give them millions of dollars to get out of it. This isn’t love s**t, as I mentioned. That is what I am experiencing in my life.
She is content in terms of her connection with Diggs. Cardi talked candidly about her later years with Offset in the song “Man Of Your Word,” which is included from her new album, Am I The Drama?
“You f**ked up the last time and said I was done. I took you back. I was stupid. I held back for you. I was really biting my tongue. I should have backed off from you, but instead I gave you a son,” she admitted.
After talking about the trust issues and adultery, the Bronx native wished him luck, saying, “I really hope you find love, I hope you find a good spirit/ I hope she satisfy your needs and everything that I didn’t.” Hear it below.
