Marlon Wayans supports “Him” despite negative reviews: “Go See For Yourself”

The actor’s open letter also included his admiration for movie reviewers.

In response to criticism of his latest movie, HIM, Marlon Wayans has released a statement.

While showing respect for the critics who were dissatisfied with the film, the actor urged fans to see films despite their low ratings in a post on Instagram on Saturday, September 20. The file included the Rotten Tomatoes scores for A Haunted House, HIM, Scary Movie 2, Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, and White Chicks.

HIM currently has a 29% rating on the website’s Tomato-meter, which aggregates reviews and ratings from expert reviewers, as of Monday. With HIM coming in at 58%, the popcorn-meter results confirmed the fan ratings.

“Just so you know,” the 53-year-old said. “I have respect for critics.” They are supposed to critique. I appreciate what they do. It influences our sector. However, an opinion is not necessarily shared by everyone. Certain films are innovative. Innovation is not always welcomed, because art is subjective and meant to be understood.

“I’ve had a career of making classic films that eventually became CLASSICS, even though they weren’t well received by critics,” he added. Go see for yourself instead of relying on the opinions of others. Love to everyone. Now, he is in theaters.

Tyriq Withers, Tim Heidecker, and Jim Jefferies co-star in the film HIM, which came out last weekend. Rappers Tierra Whack and Guapdad 4000, as well as MMA heavyweight fighter Maurice Greene, also made their feature film debuts.

“I believe its content is the relatability of Withers told VIBE before to the HIM release, “I believe it’s bigger than football, I think it’s bigger than the entertainment industry, I think it’s bigger than sports.” It discusses someone striving for greatness and the lengths they will go to in order to get it, in my opinion.

Directed by Jordan Tipping, HIM is a part of Universal’s first-look, five-year agreement with Monkeypaw Productions and Jordan Peele. For Monkeypaw, Peele, Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson serve as producers.
