Cardi B’s new album has songs by Janet Jackson, Selena Gomez, and Kehlani
Janet Jackson, Selena Gomez, and Lizzo will all be on Cardi B’s new record, Am I the Drama?
The WAP rapper and Spotify announced on Monday which other artists will be on her long-awaited second record, which will come out on Friday.
On social media, Cardi B asked, “WHO ELSE IS THE DRAMA?”
Tyla, Meghan Thee Stallion, and Kehlani are also on the list of people who have worked together.
The track list for Cardi’s new album hasn’t been released yet, but it will have a lot of reunions with artists she worked with before, like Kehlani on the song “Ring” from her 2018 debut album “Invasion of Privacy.”
The Bodak Yellow rapper worked with Selena on DJ Snake’s popular hit Taki Taki in 2018 and with Lizzo on Rumors the following year.
Cardi has been pushing her new album harder lately by going out on the streets of New York before it comes out.
The 32-year-old star told The Jennifer Hudson Show, “I am so overwhelmed…” It feels like I’m pushing a baby.
“That part was finished, and that’s what’s missing.” I talk about everything I wish to.
Cardi B recently said that she was “very picky” and waited seven years to put out her second record.
“I always knew I was going to drop a second album, I just didn’t have a project well put together,” the Money rapper told Billboard.
“My fans would tell me, ‘Oh, you should have put together a project when WAP and Up came out,’ but I only liked four of the records I had.”
It was around that time that I didn’t have a record ready. There’s no way I’m going to lock down in two months and finish a record. My music tastes are very particular.
“I want to put out this whole project because I have a lot of songs,” Cardi said. I made 60 songs. I alter my position on everything every other day.
“My team always tells me, ‘I hope you don’t change your mind about your songs.’” It makes me say, “Nope.” “I’m settled.”
Also, she says that live shows make her more money than records, but she didn’t want to rush the release of her second album so that she could go on tour.
The star said, “A lot of people say I’m comfortable because I make money, but the shows I do make me the most money.”
“I could work quickly to release music and make millions of dollars per show, but that’s not what it’s about.” Excellent music is what I want. I want it to be great.
