Rio Tinto mine in Guinea claims the life of a contract worker
Rio Tinto’s (RIO.L) new tab SimFer mine site in Nzerekore, Guinea, reported that a contract worker died after an incident on Friday.
According to the iron ore miner’s statement released on Saturday, all operations at the SimFer mine site are presently on hold.
According to Simon Trott, the company’s incoming CEO, precautions would be taken to guarantee the safest working conditions while he is in Guinea.
According to Rio Tinto CEO Jakob Stausholm, “a thorough investigation will take place together with the relevant authorities to establish the causes of this tragic incident.”
