Air Peace Makes a Significant Move in Global Expansion with the Arrival of Its Fourth Boeing 777

Air Peace’s plans to grow internationally have moved forward since it received its fourth Boeing 777 to help link people around the world.

Air Peace Limited, Nigeria’s biggest airline, has taken a big step toward its goal of dominating the flight market in West and Central Africa and expanding its reach around the world by bringing in its fourth Boeing 777.

The brand-new Boeing 777-200 ER, registered as 5N-CEG, arrived at Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 3:32 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, after taking off from Teruel, Spain. When the plane arrived, there was a traditional water-cannon greeting and a big party led by Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman of the airline; Obinna Onyema, Executive Director; Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olajide, Chief Operating Officer; and other members of Air Peace’s management team.

Efe Osifo-Whiskey, a spokesperson for the airline, told reporters that buying the Boeing 777 is in line with Air Peace’s goal of making global connection stronger. The 312-seater plane has 26 high-end Business Class seats and 286 standard Economy Class seats, which makes the flight experience better for customers. Business Class passengers will have private seats with climate control and high-tech comfort features. Economy Class passengers will have plenty of space and excellent service.

During a tour of the media, Dr. Onyema called the event a “pivotal milestone” for the airline and emphasized that the purchase is a key part of Air Peace’s plan to grow. He said that the airline’s first long-haul trips from Abuja to London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports would be on the newly bought Boeing 777 within the next two months.

Onyema also said that Air Peace was planning to add more routes to important places in Europe, South America (especially direct flights to São Paulo), and the Caribbean. This would build on the company’s groundbreaking work in Antigua and Barbuda and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Onyema said that the airline was still committed to giving Nigerians “fair and affordable” access to international travel. He also said that he didn’t like how foreign airlines usually charge high prices for tickets and that Nigeria should build a good hub system to improve connectivity between countries in the region and around the world.

The head of Air Peace thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for helping local airlines by enforcing good policies. He also praised Senator Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, for putting in place strategies that allow all Nigerian airlines to compete well on the world stage.
