Jose Chameleone and Daniella Atim, his wife, decide to end their 17-year marriage

A music legend’s marriage breaks down.

The well-known Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone, whose real name is Joseph Mayanja, and his spouse Daniella Atim have reportedly decided to dissolve their 17-year union.

According to several Ugandan news outlets, Daniella filed for divorce in March of this year, claiming a lengthy history of neglect and lack of affection.

The reports stated that Daniella was depressed and that after being abandoned for five years, she was left to raise their five children alone.

The couple got married at Kampala’s St. James Catholic Parish on June 7, 2008.

Divorce terms

According to reports, Daniella Atim’s divorce petition contained a number of important demands. In addition to full ownership of the couple’s family home in the Kampala suburb of Seguku, she is requesting full custody of their five children.

Along with requesting ongoing financial support for herself and the kids, she also wants Chameleone to pay for the divorce’s legal costs.

According to the sources, Jose Chameleone has committed to keeping up his child-rearing. He reportedly disagrees with some of Daniella’s other demands, though.

He maintains that the Seguku house should not only be held in Daniella’s name but also in the names of the children. Additionally, he is requesting access to his kids, saying his wife has betrayed them.

The claims of neglect have been refuted by Chameleone, who claims that in 2018, he and Daniella made the decision to move the family to the US. According to him, he has continuously supported them financially.

Additionally, he thinks that both parents should help raise their children because they are both employed.

An Overview of Marital Conflict

The public has been watching the couple’s relationship for a number of years. Daniella had previously filed for divorce in 2017 on the grounds of domestic abuse and cruelty.

She said that Chameleone would verbally and physically attack her, often in front of their kids, according to court documents from that period.

She said her spouse had physically abused her during that time when he came home intoxicated. She claimed that in order to escape from him, she would go to friends’ houses and cover her bruises with veils. Nevertheless, Chameleone refuted those assertions.

He had stated in a Facebook video that since he was a Catholic and did not believe in divorce, it would not occur. He even attributed the reports to “haters” who wished for his downfall.

Even though they had previously reconciled, it looks like their 17-year marriage will end with the most recent divorce procedures.
