Taylor lost her struggle with her ex-husband for contempt of court, according to recent sources. After accusing one another of breaking the conditions of their 2024 divorce settlement, she and Shumpert went to a hearing on the issue on July 25.
Shumpert was successful in proving his claims that Taylor had violated the agreement that prohibited them from talking about their divorce. He claimed that by discussing their breakup in an Instagram video in March, she had violated this condition.
According to US Weekly, the judge ruled in favor of Shumpert and convicted Taylor of contempt. Because she did not have enough proof to establish Shumpert had leaked their divorce to the media, she was ordered to pay her ex-husband $70,000 for legal fees, and her accusations against him were dropped.

Taylor was able to avoid his other charge, even though the judge rejected her claims of contempt and her demand that Shumpert reimburse her for her legal bills. Because she allegedly broke their parenting agreement, her ex-partner sought that she be found in contempt.
However, Taylor was not punished since the judge did not find her culpable. In May, the contempt of court drama caused a stir when The Blast revealed that Shumpert had ordered his ex-wife to serve up to 20 days in jail and pay a $1,000 fine.
The basketball star pleaded with the court to declare her guilty of both civil and criminal contempt, claiming that Taylor’s social media post revealing their divorce verdict had a detrimental effect on his income. He emphasized that she didn’t think about him or their children.

Shumpert blamed Taylor for disrupting the parenting agreement in addition to the supposed loss of income. He said that by yanking their kids out of school without cause, she purposefully prevented him from picking them up.
Shumpert emphasized that this was not the first instance in which Taylor was accused of interfering with his parental rights, claiming that she frequently made fun of him in front of his children. “Such insults and criticism of Iman have caused the children to unjustly suffer stress and worry,” he said.
Because of Taylor’s claimed actions, the athlete continued, their children were “in the self-imposed position of peacemaker between their parents.” However, the actress demanded that Shumpert be temporarily imprisoned as a form of retribution for allegedly disclosing their sealed divorce documents to the media.

“I can’t control what I can’t control, so when I do anything for the day, I’m doing it. All I can do is see my babies and go about my work; everything else just falls into place,” Shumpert said. He went on to say that he concentrated on himself and did not allow the criticism he received online to affect him.
