Chloe Malle is Anna Wintour’s top choice to succeed her at Vogue

The 75-year-old is leaving his job as editor-in-chief of the fashion bible after 37 years. Page Six reports that he has now chosen just a few applicants to replace him.

Chloe, 39, is the editor of Vogue.com and the daughter of actress Candice Bergen and French film director Louis Malle.

Reporters for Page Six say she is in the “final rounds” of talks to be US Vogue’s head of editorial content.

She just finished talking to Lauren Sanchez for her Vogue cover, which came out before Sanchez’s wedding to Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.

According to people who know, Nicole Phelps, who is the global head of Vogue Runway, an online platform for fashion shows, is still in the running for the top job.

By the beginning of New York Fashion Week, which runs from September 11th to September 16th, a final choice should have been made.

Four to five strong prospects are said to be left, some of whom are not from the company. It was said that Instagram’s Eva Chen might take the job, but now it’s not thought that she will. An source told Page Six, “Eva is making a ton of money at Instagram.” Moving over is not necessary.

Eva, who is 42 years old and is Head of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram, used to work at Teen Vogue and Lucky, both from Condé Nast.

Sara Moonves, 45, who owns W Magazine, has also been mentioned as a possible candidate, but sources say she is too emotionally attached to her own magazine to make the move.

Additionally, Chioma Nnadi, who took over for Edward Enninful as head of editorial content at British Vogue in October 2023, is still living in London and is said to be pleased with her job.

Anna told everyone that she would be leaving her job as editor-in-chief in June.

It was her job to show everyone that there was a new and interesting way to think about an American fashion magazine when she became editor of Vogue. I love helping the next generation of passionate editors take the field by storm with their own ideas and a fresh, exciting view of what a big media company can be.

The new editor will not be editor-in-chief, but head of editorial content. They will answer to Anna, who will still be Vogue’s global editorial director and Condé Nast’s chief content officer.
