Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Sign a New Netflix Deal

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry have agreed to a new multi-year deal with Netflix.

Through their Archewell Productions name, the couple has signed an agreement to continue producing movies, TV series, and documentaries for the streaming behemoth.

Harry and Meghan will co-produce a documentary short on the Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within orphanage in Uganda as their first project under their new Netflix deal.

In December, the duchess will also host a special edition of her cooking and lifestyle program With Love, Meghan called “Magical Holiday.” The show will teach viewers how to “deck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts, and share lots of laughs.”

The couple is believed to be in “active development” on additional projects that “span a variety of content genres,” including a feature-length adaptation of Carley Fortune’s best-selling romantic novel Meet Me at the Lake. The couple left their position as working members of the British royal family in 2020 before moving to California.

Meghan and Harry, 40, are “proud” to have continued their engagement with Netflix, according to Meghan, whose As Ever lifestyle business is operated in collaboration with Netflix.

“My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision,” the 44-year-old former actress, who was known as Meghan Markle before she married Harry in 2018, stated.

According to Bela Bajaria, chief content officer at Netflix, “Harry and Meghan are powerful voices whose stories speak to audiences everywhere.”

The new agreement was revealed just a few weeks before the Sussexes’ original five-year contract with the streamer was set to expire. Prior to this, it was believed that the arrangement would not likely be extended.

“No more shows will be made; the deal is done,” a source told The Sun tabloid last month. Netflix believes they have all they need from the couple. They’re not dissatisfied with the outcome because they produced one of the most talked-about shows ever and received those early hits.

“Neither side has any resentment. Simply said, things have reached their end.

“They’re just waiting for the credits to roll,” another insider told the Daily Mail. Without any drama, they’re letting it expire. No one is interested in trying anything new.

In 2020, the couple first inked a lucrative contract with Netflix, producing series like the duke’s sports show Polo and the candid documentary Harry and Meghan.
