Davido and Chioma wed in a lavish, celebrity-studded white wedding in Miami

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, and his longterm companion Chioma Rowland were married in a lavish white wedding ceremony on Sunday in Miami, Florida.

The lavish celebration was the pinnacle of a romance that has lasted more than ten years, endured personal tragedy, and enthralled millions of people worldwide.

Their Miami white wedding brought together a glittering array of relatives, friends, political elites, international business moguls, and entertainment celebrities after their court wedding in March 2023 and a traditional ceremony in Lagos in June 2024.

The list of guests for the wedding was impressive. Aliko Dangote, Davido’s godfather and the richest man in Africa, was among the prominent figures. He reportedly flew in just 72 hours after attending another well-known wedding in Iceland. Osun State Governor and Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, was also present and enchanted the dance floor with his now-famous “dancing governor” persona. Also in attendance were colleagues from the music industry, including American gospel legend Kirk Franklin, Adekunle Gold, Teni, and D’banj.

Davido disclosed that the ceremony, which cost millions of dollars, cost an incredible $3.7 million in cash.
During his emotional wedding speech, Davido, who was born in the United States and is well-known for taking over stages around the world with his singles like “Assuarance,” “Unavailable,” “Fall,” and more, seemed to be moved.

He started, “Chioma, I’ve been on a lot of stages, but this is the most nervous I’ve ever been.” “My home, my peace, and my love are you.” You entered my life subtly and quickly rose to prominence as its most attractive and audible aspect. Even though you saw the true me—the one the outside world doesn’t see—you still choose me.

Fans and guests from all over the world, many of whom have followed the couple’s journey, including the devastating loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, in 2022, found great resonance in the groom’s sensitivity.

Public attention was drawn to a few noteworthy absences, despite the event’s glittering celebrity presence. Davido’s close associate Cubana Chief Priest was one such person who was unable to attend because of visa complications.

Similar to this, Chioma’s parents were conspicuously absent, allegedly because they were caring for Chioma during postpartum problems in 2023 and had their visas revoked and temporarily banned from entering the United States due to a prior overstay.

The festivities began with a pre-wedding meal before the ceremony. Davido is seen adoringly praising Chioma in a video that has gone viral. She was dressed in a gorgeous white gown, while he was wearing a striking multicolored ensemble.

Davido showed off a new “Chioma” tattoo on his lower abdomen during their pre-wedding photo shoot, a symbolic sign of unending affection. Davido added to the glitz by surprising Chioma with a $300,000 Richard Mille diamond wristwatch, an extravagant present that left attendees speechless and social media ablaze.

The wedding was more than simply an extravagant party; it was the beginning of a new chapter in a relationship that has withstood criticism from the public, international acclaim, and personal loss. They are now parents to twins who were born in October 2023, according to The Sauce.
