Eddie Murphy: Awards Don’t Motivate Me
Eddie Murphy would still love to win an Oscar, but he isn’t driven by praise.
With roles in popular movie franchises like Beverly Hills Cop and Shrek, the 64-year-old actor has experienced enormous success in Hollywood. However, Eddie maintains that accolades don’t drive him.
“Those films are timeless and special, so they play and have commercial success for years and years,” the comedian-turned-actor told Sky News.
You earn a lot of money and people adore it, so you don’t even consider the possibility that you might have lost a prize. The prize is the audience’s reaction and the fact that the film did well.
“You are aware of what I have accumulated over the years? Eventually, I will receive one of those honorary Oscars. once I’m quite old. And let me tell how much I appreciate this amazing honor. When I’m that old, I won’t have any teeth. I have no problem receiving an honorary Oscar at the age of 90.
In the new action-comedy film The Pickup, Eddie co-stars with Pete Davidson. The actor recently asserted that he and Pete share “a lot in common.”
Additionally, Eddie said that he enjoyed working with Pete, a former Saturday Night Live performer.
Speaking to Extra, Eddie clarified: “I was excited to collaborate with him.
We now have a lot in common, and I was already a fan of SNL. During our early years, we both began performing stand-up, founded Saturday Night Live, and experienced the loss of our fathers. We therefore shared a lot of similarities, and he is a new generation of SNL. It was therefore thrilling.
Working with SNL alumni is a lot of fun. I feel a connection to each of them.
Eddie had given Pete no parenting advise, despite the fact that Pete and Elsie Hewitt are currently expecting their first child.
According to the comedian, “I didn’t give him any parenting advice.”
You know, each child is unique, so being a parent is kind interesting Sort of, you just have to walk in there and do it yourself. Fortunately, nature has programmed us to act morally. I believe that being a horrible parent requires more work.
You have to make a special effort to be a poor parent if you love your child. And doing the right thing is instinctive. I therefore gave him no guidance.
