Busta Rhymes Faces Legal Action: Helper Says He Was Beat Up for Answering the Phone

Dashiel Gables sues, alleging he was blackballed from the profession, overworked, and punched.

His former aide, who claims that working for the rap legend was nothing less than abuse, has made grave accusations against Busta Rhymes.

Dashiel Gables, who started working for Busta in 2024 for $200 a day, has sued the legendary MC for allegedly creating a hazardous and poisonous workplace. Gables claims that he was frequently spit on, yelled at, and made to work grueling 18-hour stints without overtime.

According to Gables, a dispute in the Brooklyn home’s foyer escalated into a physical altercation in January 2025, marking the tipping point. Gables says Busta got angry and hit him twice in the face, putting him to the hospital, after he ignored a call from his daughter and texted her back instead.

Gables claims he has been barred from the music industry ever since he submitted a police report. In addition to requesting damages for lost future wages, his lawsuit accuses Busta of assault, violence, wage theft, and emotional anguish.

Rhymes Busta is calling foul. He vehemently refuted the allegations in a statement, claiming that Gables was only with him briefly and was now attempting to harm his name after being fired. The rapper claims that he is convinced the truth will be revealed and that he is preparing a countersuit.

All of this follows Busta’s recent significant victories, which include a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a part in the upcoming Naked Gun revival. However, the timing couldn’t be worse as these fresh accusations are hitting hard.

Both sides are getting ready for battle as the legal drama plays out. While Busta’s team is preparing for what might turn out to be a highly public judicial battle, Gables has a news conference scheduled in Brooklyn.
