Hulk Hogan, a legendary wrestler, died at age 71

One of professional wrestling’s most iconic individuals has passed away, and the sport is in grief.

According to reports, Terry Bollea, better known as Hulk Hogan, died at the age of 71 following a cardiac arrest in his Clearwater, Florida, residence.

Paramedics were reportedly called Thursday morning, but he was declared dead not long after getting to the hospital.

Hogan had a neck fusion surgery just two months prior, which was the most recent in a lengthy string of medical problems.

As the face of WWF (now WWE), he became a household name in the 1980s, hosting the first nine WrestleManias and transforming wrestling into a major force in world entertainment. He was the first real wrestling celebrity and a household figure thanks to his red-and-yellow outfit, loud voice, and unrivaled charm.

He remade himself at WCW in the 1990s as the evil “Hollywood Hogan,” establishing the New World Order (nWo) and once again changing the face of wrestling.

Hogan was a 12-time world champion and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, once as a member of the nWo and once as a solo artist.

Outside of the ring, Hogan left his imprint in television, film, and business.

He initially married Linda Claridge (1983–2009), then Jennifer McDaniel (2010–2021), and finally, in 2023, he married yoga instructor Sky Daily. Both his son Nick and daughter Brooke from his first marriage survive him.
