Navy Kenzo, the makers of “Kamatia Chini,” announce a new era and a name change

Tanzanian musical duo Navy Kenzo has declared that they would now go by Aika & Nahreel as their stage name.

The pair, which consists of Aika and Nahreel, announced on social media that Navy Kenzo is no longer in use. They stressed that although their name will change, the core of their music will stay the same and be more in line with their identities as musicians and people.

The pair wrote in their letter how much they appreciate their fans’ constant support and how much their success has been attributed to their affection. They revealed that their new phase as Aika and Nahreel will be fueled by the same love.

Aika and Nahreel believe that this new name better captures their personality as artists, even though Navy Kenzo initially represented their distinctive fusion of African and foreign elements.

Fans may anticipate that the duo will continue to produce songs in their distinctive style, which combines dancehall, R&B, Afropop, and Bongo Flava, even with the name change. Their biggest songs, such as “Kamatia,” “Bajaj,” “Game,” and “Katika” with Diamond Platnumz, have earned them a devoted following both domestically and abroad.

In addition to being musical partners, Aika and Nahreel are also a spouse and parents of two sons. Their success as a duo and their artistic synergy are surely a result of their close personal relationship.
