Star of the Smurfs Rihanna Shares a Strong Connection with Smurfette!

Rihanna believes that she “identifies a lot” with Smurfette.

The 37-year-old singer, who provided the voice of the blonde-haired blue animated character in the 2025 musical-fantasy-comedy Smurfs, acknowledges that she possesses the rough, bold, and resolute qualities of her alter ego.

“I love that she is tough, but she’s still a girl’s girl,” she said in the latest issue of Britain’s HELLO! magazine.

She doesn’t fear anything or anyone. She never gives up, is a leader, and is tenacious. I truly feel like I can relate to her a lot.

“It felt like we have a lot in common,” Rihanna, the owner of the lingerie brand Savage X Fenty and the cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, continued. “She’s a beautician and an aesthetician too.”

I simply couldn’t believe this possibility since I’ve always related with Smurfette, dating back to when I was four or five years old.

“It is nothing short of a dream.”

After watching the film, the performer believes young girls will desire to be like Smurfette.

“She’s genuine and approachable, and you’re captivated by her,” she continued.

“Young girls are going to think they can be her or be her friends.”

As the voice of Gratuity “Tip” Tucci in DreamWorks’ Home, among other film roles, Rihanna feels “much more confident” as a musician than an actor.
“As a musician, I feel much more confident than I do as an actor,” she clarified.

“I really admire actors, and being among them is undoubtedly really daunting. It is frightening.

But I don’t see why I wouldn’t do movies as long as I put in the effort. So far, I’ve had enjoyable experiences.

According to Rihanna, her husband, 36-year-old rapper A$AP Rocky, and their two sons, RZA, age three, and Riot, age 23 months, are eager to see Smurfs.

“They are enthusiastic about it,” she remarked.

It’s an amazing experience to be there with them as Smurfette appears on screen and my voice emerges from her mouth. Telling them about this is enjoyable.

In the movie, the Smurfs are rescued. John Goodman plays Papa Smurf after he is taken by the evil wizards Razamel and Gargamel (voiced by JP Karliak). To preserve the universe, they also “must discover what defines their destiny” with the aid of new friends.

The film’s soundtrack features music by Rihanna, who believes viewers will learn the value of collaboration and that they can accomplish anything in life.
