Finmin, the head of Tanzania’s central bank, told the IMF that the country’s GDP would expand by about 6% in 2025

In a letter to the International Monetary Fund, Tanzania’s finance minister and central bank governor predicted that the country’s economy will expand by almost 6% in 2025 after growing by an estimated 5.4% in 2024.

In the Nov. 29 letter released by the fund late on Wednesday, Finance Minister Mwigulu Nchemba and Central Bank Governor Emmanuel Tutuba listed a number of possible short-term risks to the performance, including escalating regional conflicts, rising commodity price volatility, a global economic slowdown, and climate-related natural disasters.
