Post Malone premiered a new song and featured Swae Lee at the World Cup closing ceremony
Post Malone debuted a fresh track and joined forces with Swae Lee for an electrifying performance that capped off the 2026 FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday.
The Grammy-nominated singer commenced his three-song set with an unreleased track thought to be titled Chrome Heartbreaker before delighting fans with a series of his most popular hits in anticipation of the championship match between Argentina and Spain.
Dressed in his signature denim ensemble and cowboy hat, Malone took the stage atop a towering yellow platform, surrounded by fireworks, perfectly setting the atmosphere for the tournament’s grand finale.
He followed the debut performance with “Wow,” his 2019 Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hit, before inviting rapper Swae Lee to perform their chart-topping collaboration “Sunflower,” featured in the animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Malone also donned a white T-shirt with the phrase, “I Just Hope Both Teams Have Fun,” bringing a playful element to the event.
The entertainment commenced prior to Malone’s arrival, featuring internet personality IShowSpeed as he performed his song “Champions,” supported by drummers and dancers clad in vibrant tracksuits.
The closing ceremony was an integral component of a larger entertainment program associated with the World Cup final, showcasing an 11-minute halftime show that included performances by BTS, Justin Bieber, Madonna, and Shakira, all curated by Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin.
Ahead of the event, FIFA President Gianni Infantino characterized Malone’s appearance as a pivotal moment of the tournament. “In an era where sports, culture, and global focus intersect, Post Malone is set to present a performance aimed at honoring the tournament’s journey and energizing the ambiance before the world shifts its gaze to the two finalists.”

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise made an appearance at the ceremony, delivering an inspiring speech before the kickoff as the tournament wrapped up with one of its most glamorous celebrations to date.
