World Cup trophy will make its grand entrance in a custom-designed Louis Vuitton trunk
The World Cup trophy will be transported to the New York-New Jersey stadium in a custom Louis Vuitton trunk, with the French luxury fashion house once again given the responsibility of designing the carry case for the most sought-after prize in soccer.
The trunk showcases a golden “V” symbolizing both “Victory” and “Vuitton” prominently on the front, adorned with the brand’s iconic monogram pattern and gold-plated brass corner protectors.
The interior is lined with beige leather and showcases a patch that commemorates the partnership between Louis Vuitton and FIFA.
It marks the fifth consecutive time that the French company has crafted a trunk for the trophy, following those created for the tournaments in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022. “For more than ten years, Louis Vuitton and FIFA have maintained a steadfast dedication to excellence, united by a common belief in the ability of sport to inspire and unite people,” stated Louis Vuitton CEO and Chairman Pietro Beccari.
Luxury brands have established a significant presence in professional sports, with Tiffany & Co. creating the award given to the Super Bowl champion—now referred to as the Vince Lombardi Trophy—since its inception in 1967.
Louis Vuitton creates custom luxury trophy trunks for major Grand Prix circuits as part of a 10-year agreement with Formula 1.
However, there is just one trophy for the quadrennial global event—the award usually resides at the FIFA Museum in Zurich—making the opportunity to create its custom luggage a distinct privilege.
