Angela Simmons and Yo Gotti have ignited speculation about a possible reconciliation during Jay-Z’s residency at Yankee Stadium
After Angela Simmons’ breakup with Yo Gotti last year, some fans are speculating that there might be some activity in the DMs once more for the former couple.
Despite their separation in 2025, Angela Simmons and Yo Gotti reportedly attended Jay-Z’s concert in New York City together on Sunday, July 12. Although they have not commented on their relationship status or confirmed their attendance at the concert together, footage from the final night of performances has fans of the former couple speculating about a possible reconciliation.
On the third night of Jay-Z’s concerts in New York City, commemorating the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, Simmons shared some footage from the evening on Instagram. The video she uploaded features Simmons and a friend rapping along to “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem,” with Angela directing the camera towards herself.
In slow-motion footage from The Shade Room, a man who looks like Yo Gotti can be seen in the background of the video, positioned just behind Simmons’ right shoulder. It can be challenging to notice in real time, but when the video is slowed down, it definitely appears that the rapper is positioned directly behind his ex as she revels in the concert.
This potential reconciliation arises just over a year after Angela announced their separation. The former couple did not issue a statement regarding their breakup; however, Simmons revealed to Angie Martinez on her podcast in June 2025 that they were no longer together.
“I had to make a decision,” she stated during an episode of In Real Life. Keeping some things to oneself is often the wisest choice. Once again, I am sending love and respect his way; he is truly making strides, and I couldn’t be happier for him.
While she did not explain the reasons behind their breakup, Angela mentioned during her appearance on Cam Newton’s Funk Fridays podcast in March that she believed the rapper might not be prepared for marriage.
In a recent episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast, host Shannon Sharpe inquired of Simmons whether she would consider “spinning the block and marrying an ex.
Without hesitation, Angela replied, “If it makes sense!” I don’t impose any restrictions on myself regarding what I would or wouldn’t do… Reflecting on my life and the things I expressed in my youth, I must admit that I truly don’t have all the answers.
She continued, “I don’t necessarily intend to say, ‘Look, let me go be with this person and I’m going to marry them.'” However, one can never be certain! It certainly has the potential!
Considering that openness, it appears increasingly probable that Angela Simmons and Yo Gotti might be trying again.
