Egypt FA has renewed the contract of national team coach Hassan

The Egyptian Football Association announced on Wednesday that it has approved a contract extension for national team coach Hossam Hassan following Egypt’s successful campaign at the World Cup.

EFA President Hany Abo Rida announced that the association’s board had approved the renewal of contracts for Egypt national team head coach Hossam Hassan and team director Ibrahim Hassan,” the EFA stated in a release.

The 59-year-old was appointed in February 2024 and guided Egypt to the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

He mentioned previously that he had been collaborating with the national team without a contract since February 2026.

Egypt achieved their inaugural World Cup triumph under Hassan, securing a 3-1 victory against New Zealand in Group G.

They triumphed over Australia in a penalty shootout during the round of 32, marking their first knockout match of the tournament, before falling 3-2 to the defending champions Argentina in their quest for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Local media reported that the new contract will extend until 2030.
