Spotify has become an official sponsor and exclusive streaming partner for Afronation Portugal 2026

Spotify and Afronation Portugal are collaborating to connect fans with the artists, performances, and fan culture that define African music on a global scale.

As the official sponsor and exclusive streaming partner of Afronation Portugal 2026, Spotify will enhance the festival experience by extending it beyond the live weekend through this model. This collaboration establishes a dedicated Afronation hub on Spotify, allowing fans to explore festival content, highlighted artists, the official playlist, and curated performance videos following the event.

The collaboration represents a seamless progression of Afronation’s enduring dedication to Afrobeats and African music, a commitment that resonates with Spotify. Since its inception, Afronation has actively contributed to artist breakthroughs, consistently dedicating time, energy, and platform support to champion African music and assist artists in reaching global audiences.

This partnership embodies the common values held by Spotify and Afronation, both committed to offering a worldwide platform for African creativity. By collaborating, they are upholding the mission that Afronation has embraced from the outset: to ensure that African music and culture receive recognition on a global stage.

AfroNation, scheduled for 3 to 5 July in Portimão, Portugal, has emerged as a significant global hub for African music, uniting artists, fans, and culture across continents. Through this partnership, Spotify will highlight that movement on-platform, providing fans with a way to feel the energy of the festival, whether they are present in Portugal or tuning in from anywhere around the globe.

The dedicated Afronation destination on Spotify will serve as the hub for this experience, uniting artist discovery, playlisting, and curated performance content captured at the festival. It represents an important new method for fans to connect with Afronation before, during, and after the live event.

“Afronation transcends the concept of a festival—it embodies a worldwide celebration of African music, fan culture, and creative impact,” stated Rifumo Mdaka, Content Marketing Manager for Spotify in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our collaboration aims to extend that moment’s reach through our inaugural partnership with Afronation of this kind. By introducing the festival on Spotify, we’re providing fans with an opportunity to engage with the artists, performances, and narratives that characterize the festival, even after the last set concludes.

The partnership showcases Spotify’s ongoing commitment to African music and the communities that are propelling its global expansion. Through discovery and playlisting, as well as live performance capture and fan-led storytelling, Spotify is facilitating innovative avenues for African music moments to connect with audiences beyond borders.

As a component of the campaign, Spotify will track the journey of a dedicated fan traveling to Afronation Portugal, documenting the thrill, enthusiasm, and international bond that continues to drive the global movement of African music.

Afro Nation has consistently represented more than just a festival. It is a platform designed to honor African music, facilitate artist breakthroughs, and unite a global community through culture. Our collaboration with Spotify marks an important milestone for us, as it highlights the mutual contribution we make in the realm of discovery, assisting artists in connecting with new audiences and providing fans with enriched opportunities to engage with the music they cherish. This collaboration signifies a thrilling advancement of the Afro Nation experience, amplifying the festival’s energy beyond the live event,” states Clémence Blum, Director of Global Partnerships, The Malachite Group / Afro Nation.

Performance content from Afronation Portugal will be accessible on Spotify after the festival as a result of this collaboration.
