Cardi B secures another legal win against Tasha K, as the blogger is ordered to pay $60,000 following posts by Offset and Stefon Diggs
Cardi B has achieved yet another legal victory over gossip blogger Tasha K, resulting in an increased financial obligation for the blogger to the rapper.
Tasha K, whose full name is Latasha Transrina Kebe, has consented to pay Cardi $60,000 following her online disparagement, which breached a prior legal ruling. According to Rolling Stone, the agreement submitted on Tuesday indicates that Cardi and Tasha K have come to a resolution “to avoid the expense, delay, and uncertainty of further litigation” regarding the total amount awarded.
This new legal dispute arises following Cardi’s earlier success in 2022, when she secured a $4 million judgment in her defamation lawsuit against the blogger.
All these years later, Kebe continues to work towards paying off that debt, but now, additional amounts have been added to her total. In the course of their initial legal dispute, Cardi consented to postpone attempts to collect the entire judgment, provided that Kebe would not discuss Almánzar and her family.
Cardi and her legal team asserted that Kebe entirely disregarded the agreement when she posted on social media about the rapper’s estranged husband, Offset, and the father of her youngest child, Stefon Diggs.
In April, the Bronx native submitted a motion requesting that a judge enforce “economically painful” sanctions on the blogger. Cardi’s lawyers informed the judge that they have been closely monitoring Kebe’s social media due to a persistent “cat and mouse” game that has been unfolding over the past year. They assert that they have recorded over two dozen “egregious violations” of the non-disparagement clause since finalizing their settlement.
“The debtor continues to hold the belief that she is above the law, immune to consequences, and untouchable,” the filing stated. “What makes this pattern of defiance particularly egregious is not just the violations themselves, but the admissions made by the debtor in public broadcasts. … She has clearly stated her intention to resume harassment of Ms. Almánzar once her debt is settled.
As per the agreement made on Tuesday, Kebe has committed to transferring $30,000 to Cardi within 28 days of the court order, with the remaining amount due on or before December 31. If she does not make these payments by their due dates, the rapper may issue a written notice of default. If Kebe defaults, Cardi may pursue the complete award of $110,115.
