Authorities confirmed Sunday that eleven people lost their lives when a plane carrying a parachute school crew crashed in northeastern France.

The aircraft was transporting 11 individuals, comprising the pilot, five trainee parachutists, and five instructors. Officials reported that there were no survivors, as all individuals on board tragically lost their lives in the crash.

France’s interior minister was said to be en route to the scene as emergency responders and investigators initiated an operation to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Regional prefect Yves Seguy stated that initial findings suggest the aircraft might have suffered damage prior to its abrupt vertical descent toward the ground. The aircraft descended in a densely populated region near a shopping center.

Seguy remarked that the tragedy had the potential to be significantly more severe, indicating that the aircraft narrowly avoided regions where a greater number of individuals could have been harmed or lost their lives.

Emergency crews secured the crash site as investigators commenced their examination of the wreckage to determine the cause of the aircraft’s descent.

The local prosecutor has not yet released an official statement as authorities persist in their investigation into one of the region’s most lethal aviation accidents in recent years.
