Manchester United Finalizes Permanent Appointment of Michael Carrick as Head Coach
Manchester United is poised to appoint Michael Carrick on a permanent basis following his successful guidance of the club to Champions League qualification.
Manchester United has finalized an agreement with Michael Carrick to assume the role of the club’s permanent head coach after an impressive stint in interim management.
The formal process of exchanging contracts has commenced, and an official announcement is anticipated within the next 48 hours. Uncertainty lingers regarding the finalisation of the deal before Sunday’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, though the club is keen to secure the appointment prior to their last home game of the season.
Carrick is poised to sign a two-year contract, with the possibility of extending it for an additional 12 months.
The 44-year-old has managed a remarkable turnaround at Old Trafford since taking over from Ruben Amorim, who was let go in January. Under Carrick’s leadership, United achieved qualification for the upcoming season’s Champions League, bolstering his argument for a permanent position.
The executive leadership team at United, comprising chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox, has put forth a recommendation for Carrick’s appointment to the club owners, Ineos. This proposal has now received approval from the hierarchy.
