“Friday” is 30 years old today, and Ice Cube is celebrating by putting on a huge hip-hop and comedy show in Long Beach

Three decades later, “Friday” continues to make an appearance—and this summer, it’s stepping into the spotlight. Ice Cube and Mike Epps have revealed “Everyday’s Friday: Lyrics, Lounging, and Laughing,” a special one-night event at the Long Beach Amphitheater on July 17. Warren G and Scarface of the Geto Boys, who added “Friday Night” to the original soundtrack alongside C.J. Mac, are also part of the lineup, with more comedians yet to be revealed.

The news was announced with a striking flair. Ice Cube stepped onto the mound at Dodger Stadium to deliver the ceremonial first pitch, and in a surprising twist that thrilled the audience, Epps appeared as the catcher—a complete Craig and Day-Day reunion. The event took place during Ice Cube Bobblehead Night at the stadium.

The “Friday” franchise grew from its 1995 original with two sequels: “Next Friday” (2000), which brought Epps’ beloved character Day-Day to the forefront, and “Friday After Next” (2002). The fourth installment, “Last Friday,” has been in development for quite some time, and the show is now set to move forward, having received the green light from Warner Bros.

Ice Cube stated, “Friday has always dedicated itself to the fans who transformed it into a classic and sustained its legacy for nearly 30 years.” “Having the opportunity to return to the stage with Mike Epps and share that vibrant energy for a one-night-only event in Long Beach is truly remarkable.” This performance signifies the start of a new chapter.

Epps expressed a similar feeling: “For the past 30 years, I have heard from someone every day about their love for the Friday franchise and the significance of the characters to them.” Reuniting with Cube to deliver this unique one-night-only experience to the fans is truly remarkable.
