Ray J Claims He Was Paid $4 Million Prior to the Kardashians Allegedly Violating Their Sex-Tape Agreement
The artist alleges that breaches of contract, intimidation tactics, and industry blacklisting have compelled the dispute to be taken to court.
Ray J is once again drawing attention to the Kardashians by disclosing shocking details regarding his ongoing legal dispute related to the notorious sex tape agreement. In a recent interview with Jason Lee, the singer claimed that Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian breached the original agreement while purportedly continuing to benefit from the ensuing controversy.
Ray J stated that he was given a $5 million deal related to the tape, noting that he was initially compensated in installments before the relationship between the parties reportedly soured. He stated that the situation changed when he started experiencing what he referred to as “slavery treatment,” along with intimidation, disrespectful emails, and ongoing threats related to his public remarks and business prospects.
He further claimed that the Kardashians violated the agreement prematurely by not removing associated content from Hulu and Disney platforms, which he argues rendered the contract “null and void.” Ray J contended that, despite allegations suggesting he breached the agreement, payments reportedly continued to be received, which he asserts demonstrates inconsistencies in their assertions against him.
The singer took it a step further, alleging that the Kardashian family leveraged their Hollywood influence to cut him off from mainstream entertainment opportunities. Ray J stated that the controversy cast a shadow over his career, hindering his opportunities for major shows and partnerships.
He also disclosed that the legal dispute is currently in court, following a judge’s reported denial of attempts to seal documents related to the case. Ray J stated that the Kardashians contended public records might damage their business reputation. He states that the harm to his own career has already been significant.
