Athletic Bilbao has appointed former Dortmund manager Terzic as their new coach
Athletic Bilbao announced on Tuesday that Edin Terzic will take over as head coach starting next season.
The previous Borussia Dortmund coach has secured a contract until 2028, taking over from Ernesto Valverde, with Bilbao currently positioned eighth in the Spanish league standings.
Terzic, 43, comes to the Basque Country with a strong reputation for guiding teams that engage in high-intensity, attacking football. His time at Dortmund included a German Cup title in 2021 and a journey to the Champions League final in 2024, where they were defeated 2-0 by Real Madrid.
The German has been unemployed since departing Dortmund at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
