Dame Dash Refutes Beyoncé Dating Speculations: “She Was a Child to Me”

The mogul discusses how his first impression of the diva influenced their relationship and why he never saw her in a romantic manner.

To dispel accusations that he attempted to date Beyoncé, Dame Dash is coming out. The Roc-A-Fella co-founder stated in an interview with The Art of Dialogue that he was never considering a romantic relationship because of their initial encounter.

Dash said, “I wasn’t even thinking about Beyoncé. She was a kid to me.” He clarified that he was unable to distinguish the lady she became from the person he knew as a teenager. For him, the age gap and his first perception established a lasting barrier. He continued, “I couldn’t unsee her as 16.” “Those girls were kids to me, so that wasn’t on my list.”

Dash claims that at the time, he was focused on an entirely different social circle that included prominent, older members of the fashion business. He was looking for women who were already established in the same exclusive circles as him. He contrasted his way of life with that of the members of Destiny’s Child, saying, “I was running behind… Naomi Campbell… it was different.”

He expressed a different opinion on Kelly Rowland, acknowledging that he saw her in a more mature perspective, but being adamant about his disinterest in Beyoncé. “Kelly Rowland…” he remarked, “I’ve actually seen her and thought, I would mess with her.”

These remarks coincide with Dash’s ongoing discussion about his early career and his collaboration with Jay-Z.
