Lebanese army chief and US general convene to discuss security in Lebanon
The commander of the Lebanese armed forces, General Rudolf Haykal, met with U.S. General Joseph Clearfield in Beirut to discuss the security situation in Lebanon and regional developments, as stated by the army on Saturday.
Clearfield leads a committee overseeing a U.S.-supported ceasefire in the conflict between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah. The statement indicated that the participants at the meeting emphasized the significance of the Lebanese army’s role and the necessity of supporting it during the current phase.
