King Charles arrives in Bermuda after his last trip to the US
King Charles has arrived in Bermuda following his visit to the United States.
King Charles III has reached Bermuda after completing a four-day state visit to the United States.
The monarch arrived at LF Wade International Airport in Hamilton, where senior officials were present to welcome him. A guard of honor, composed of the Royal Bermuda Regiment, welcomed the King during his inaugural visit to the island as monarch. A complete ceremonial reception, featuring a 21-gun salute, is planned for Friday.
The King’s arrival comes after a largely successful and meticulously planned visit to the United States with Queen Camilla. The royal couple wrapped up their visit with a vibrant community parade in Front Royal, providing a more casual and public-oriented conclusion following several days of formal activities in Washington, DC.
The Virginia stop, in stark contrast to the meticulously organized diplomatic events that preceded it, showcased a lively “block party” ambiance filled with marching bands, cheerleaders, vintage cars, and Appalachian clog dancing. The King and Queen took part in a walkabout, warmly greeting residents and interacting directly with the local community.
The event, commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence, highlighted small-town culture, featuring a traditional community meal where the royal couple provided dishes like Coronation quiche, Victoria sponge cake, and honey from royal hives.
Previously, the king and queen had officially wrapped up their Washington activities with a farewell meeting at the White House alongside President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. They paid tribute at Arlington National Cemetery by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The visit, featuring a highly praised address to Congress, was regarded as a meaningful attempt to strengthen diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom and the United States.
