Italy: Serie A players involved in a prostitution ring
The Italian soccer league has been shaken by the exposure of a sophisticated prostitution ring that has been functioning since 2019, implicating around 50 Serie A players.
These athletes allegedly spent a total of €200,000 on services arranged in private clubs or hotels, even amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
The investigation further uncovers the recreational use of laughing gas (nitrous oxide) at these secretive gatherings.
The organization, overseeing approximately 100 young women, charged a 50% commission on every encounter.
So far, Italian authorities have arrested four individuals believed to be the ringleaders. The case took a significant turn with the revelation of a pregnancy among the exploited young women, shedding light on the troubling aspects of these parties attended by soccer stars.
As for the identities of the participants, Italian authorities have not yet disclosed any official names, whether pertaining to Italian, European, or African players.
The Italian press has reported on players from various prominent clubs; however, the confidentiality of the investigation continues to safeguard the comprehensive list of clients implicated in this extensive prostitution ring.
