Pakistan states it is responding to ‘unprovoked’ fire from the Afghan Taliban along the border
Pakistan’s information ministry reported on Thursday that the country’s security forces reacted to “unprovoked fire” from Afghan Taliban forces at several locations along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.
The ministry stated on X that Taliban forces initiated gunfire across various sectors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, to which Pakistani troops provided an “immediate and effective response,” resulting in significant casualties and the destruction of several posts and equipment.
