Melinda French Gates expresses that the Epstein documents bring back ‘painful’ memories following Bill Gates’ mention in US files

Melinda French Gates expresses that Bill Gates’ involvement in the Epstein files brings back difficult memories from their marriage and divorce.

Billionaire philanthropist Melinda French Gates has expressed that the release of new documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, which mention her former husband, Bill Gates, has brought back “very painful times” from their marriage.

In an appearance on NPR’s Wild Card podcast, French Gates expressed her profound sadness regarding the recent revelations and emphasized that those mentioned in the files should address the questions themselves. “I am absolutely delighted to be free from all the mess,” she said.

The couple ended their marriage in 2021 after 27 years together.

Last week, records released by the US Department of Justice included allegations made by Epstein regarding Bill Gates, which involve a claim that the Microsoft co-founder contracted a sexually transmitted disease. Bill Gates has firmly rejected the allegation, with a spokesperson calling it “absolutely absurd” and “completely false.”

“These assertions from a verified, discontented individual are utterly ridiculous and entirely untrue,” the spokesperson stated.

Bill Gates has not faced any allegations of misconduct from Epstein’s victims, and his mention in the documents does not suggest any criminal behavior whatsoever.

During the podcast interview, French Gates expressed, “For me, it’s personally hard whenever those details come up, right?” It evokes memories of some extremely difficult moments in my marriage.

She stated that the unanswered questions regarding Epstein’s network are not for her to address. “Whatever questions remain about what, I can’t even begin to comprehend all of them; those questions are for those individuals and even for my ex-husband.” They are the ones who need to respond to those matters, not me.

Reports from US media have indicated that before their separation, French Gates expressed distress over her husband’s connection to Epstein. After the announcement of their divorce, Bill Gates admitted to having an affair with a Microsoft employee in 2019.

The claims concerning Gates are found among over three million documents made public by the justice department. Included are two emails from 18 July 2013 that seem to have been composed by Epstein. The status of whether the emails were sent remains uncertain.

Both messages came from Epstein’s email account and were directed back to the same address. There is no email account linked to Gates found in the records, and neither message bears a signature.

An email takes the shape of a resignation letter from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, asserting that Epstein was tasked with obtaining medicine for Bill Gates “to address the repercussions of encounters with Russian girls.” The second, starting with “dear Bill,” claims that Gates tried to hide a sexually transmitted infection, even from his then-wife.

Bill Gates and his representatives have consistently minimized his connection with Epstein, asserting that they met solely for “several dinners” to discuss a philanthropic initiative that ultimately did not come to fruition.

In response to the recent document release, Gates’s spokesperson stated that the records reveal only Epstein’s frustration over not being able to sustain a relationship with Gates and “the measures he would take to ensnare and slander.”

The recently unveiled documents provide additional understanding of Epstein’s broad connections with politicians, business figures, and celebrities, several of whom continued to engage with him following his 2008 conviction for soliciting sex from a 14-year-old girl.

In 2019, Epstein passed away in a New York jail while he was awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.
