Real Madrid’s Bellingham sidelined for a month due to a hamstring injury

Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham is expected to be sidelined for approximately a month due to a hamstring injury sustained during their 2-1 LaLiga win against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, as confirmed by the club.

The England midfielder, aged 22, had to leave the field just nine minutes into the match at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Bellingham came to an abrupt stop while pursuing a long ball and instantly grasped the back of his left thigh. Although he walked off the pitch, his distress was evident as he left the field in tears.

The injury occurs at a pivotal moment in the season for second-placed Real Madrid, who are just one point behind league leaders Barcelona in the standings. Madrid confronts a demanding schedule without Bellingham, beginning with an away match against Valencia next Sunday.

It is noteworthy that Bellingham is anticipated to be absent for Real Madrid’s upcoming two-legged Champions League knockout playoff against the Portuguese team Benfica later this month.
