Erika Kirk formally supports JD Vance’s bid for president in 2028
The wife of the late Charlie Kirk enters the political limelight, indicating strong support for the upcoming GOP presidential campaign.
This week, Erika Kirk made a significant political move by openly supporting Vice President JD Vance in the 2028 presidential contest.
Erika promised that Turning Point USA will fully back Vance’s possible campaign while speaking at AmericaFest in Arizona, the first significant Turning Point USA gathering after the untimely death of her husband Charlie Kirk.
“We are going to get my husband’s friend JD Vance elected for 48 in the most resounding way possible,” she declared to the audience.
Charlie Kirk launched Turning Point USA in 2012, and it has grown to be one of the most significant conservative groups in the country. The group, which is well-known for inspiring younger voters and influencing contemporary Republican tactics, was instrumental in Trump’s win and is a powerful influence in GOP politics today. Vance is positioned as a well-known individual with access to this potent network because to Erika’s support.
JD Vance has stated that he is open to running for president after concentrating on the vice presidency and the 2026 midterm elections, even though he has not formally declared his intention to do so.
“We’re going to win the midterms, we’re going to do everything that we can to win the midterms, and then after that, I’m going to sit down with the president of the United States and talk to him about it,” he stated in a recent interview. But let’s concentrate on the now.
Charlie Kirk has also been acknowledged by Vance as having had a major impact on his political career.
After Kirk passed away on September 10 at an event at Utah Valley University, Vance said, “Charlie’s ability to organize and convene is directly responsible for a lot of the success we’ve had in this administration.” He helped us staff the entire government, not just help us win in 2024.
Alongside Erika Kirk’s endorsement, several influential Republicans have also endorsed her. According to Vanity Fair, Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently stated that he would back Vance if he decided to run for president.
Rubio declared, “JD Vance will be our nominee if he runs for president, and I will be among the first to support him.” Vance was also commended by former President Donald Trump, who said that he and Rubio would make “great” candidates in the 2028 election and that their alliance would be “unstoppable.”
With Turning Point USA at his side, Vance may take use of the group’s political influence and grassroots reach to gain traction before 2028.
