John M. Chu, the director, believes Wicked 3 will come next
The daughter of Jon M. Chu has begun penning a Wicked spin-off movie.
The 46-year-old director, who is once again directing the eagerly awaited sequel Wicked: For Good, has disclosed that his eight-year-old daughter, Fiyero Tigelaar, is thrilled at the prospect of an origin story for Jonathan Bailey’s character.
At the movie’s Monday New York City premiere, he told Variety: “My daughter is eight years old and already composing one.
“I truly adore the entire opening that she wrote. However, we’ll see; let’s first enjoy this voyage.
There are “a lot of ideas” for a possible third Wicked movie, according to Chu, and he’s willing to talk if he were asked to direct another.
He teasingly said: “I would ask, ‘What is it about?'” Right now, there are a number of ideas circulating.
Michelle Yeoh, who plays Madame Morrible, the former Dean of Sorcery at Shiz University, stated that she would always accept Chu’s invitation because she had previously collaborated with him on Crazy Rich Asians (2018).
“Yes!” she said to the same outlet. I don’t need to think about anything. If Jon M. Chu approaches me, I will say yes.
He is truly clever. How could I ever refuse him? Absolutely not!
Bowen Yang, who plays Glinda’s buddy Pfannee, however, said that it might be best to “leave it here.”
He did, however, make light of the possibility of a spinoff project between Bronwyn James’ ShenShen and his character.
“With my and Bronwyn James’ characters, I’m going to pitch a Rosencrantz Guildenstern Are Dead story,” he joked.
Ariana Grande did not hint at a third movie at a recent Q&A session in Los Angeles over the weekend, but she did state that the cast members and the films would always have a special connection.
“No one is leaving,” she stated. We are not bidding farewell to anything. These characters will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Our lives have been completely and irrevocably altered by them. That makes me very thankful.
