Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail and has been labeled as a “risk of flight or danger”

The disgraced hip-hop mogul has been refused release five times now.

Despite his efforts to be released on bond, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been ordered to stay in jail until sentencing. In court filings made public on Monday, August 4, and seen by VIBE, Judge Arun Subramanian explained his legal justification for detaining the disgraced hip-hop mogul.

According to the ruling’s details, “Combs fails to meet his burden by clear and convincing evidence regarding risk of flight or danger.” “Given the circumstances and the heavy burden of proof that Combs bears, increasing the bond amount or creating additional conditions does not change the calculus.”
Judge Subramanian clarified, “Combs’s application is denied on this basis alone.”

“There are no ‘exceptional reasons’ to deviate from what Congress has mandated, even if the flight-or-danger requirement was met,” the ruling went on. “Combs’s Mann Act arguments might hold water in a case where there was no proof of violence, coercion, or subjugation related to the prostitution in question, but there is proof of all three in this record.”

Judge Subramanian also addressed Combs’ legal team’s claims that their client is a “swinger” rather than a “criminal,” which were made before to the trial and were reiterated in the most recent bail request.

“The Government takes the opposite stance: that Cassie Ventura and Jane were beaten, coerced, threatened, lied to, and victimized by Combs as part of their participation in these events.” Combs may argue at sentencing that this evidence should be disregarded and that what transpired was simply a case of willing “swingers” using the voluntary services of escorts for their mutual pleasure.

Combs was cleared of racketeering and sex trafficking charges following an 8-week federal trial last month, although he was convicted guilty on two federal counts of transporting women across state borders for the purpose of prostitution.

The judge has turned down the request five times now. He had made three prior attempts to be released prior to the trial and again after the verdict was rendered. The most recent attempt was made in a document submitted last Monday, in which Combs’ lawyers claimed that a proposed bail package included a $50 million bond co-signed by three responsible individuals and backed by his Miami property.

Additionally, his lawyers contended that the jury’s conviction of Mr. Combs under the federal Mann Act was unlawful and that the Harlem native’s conviction should be overturned or that he be given a new trial.

Virginia “Gina” Huynh, Combs’ ex-girlfriend, came forward earlier this week to publicly identify herself as Victim-3 and to call for his release. Because the prosecution had lost communication with Huynh and her attorney prior to the trial, she chose not to testify. However, Diddy’s pop star ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Fine did testify and campaigned against his release following his conviction.

According to a letter from Fine’s legal team, “Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well to the community.”

The sentencing date for Combs is set for October 3, 2025. He could spend up to ten years in prison for each count. VIBE has requested a statement from Combs’ legal team in response to Judge Subramanian’s ruling.
