Nicki Minaj vs. Dez Bryant: The NFL star got into the most bizarre Twitter feud in rap history after starting with a Jerry Jones tweet
Dez’s criticism of Jerry Jones sparked a full-fledged feud with Nicki Minaj, Roc Nation, and startling personal charges.
One tweet was the beginning of it all.
Dez Bryant, a former wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, used X (previously Twitter) to issue a mild yet direct warning to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Dez wrote, “I don’t think it’s smart to mention my name.” “On some G items, I remained silent about a lot of unfair things. If that’s what we’re doing, we can have story time.

Dez appeared prepared to share some behind-the-scenes drama from his NFL days, but that tweet started a domino effect that nobody anticipated.

After learning about the “story time” discussion, Nicki Minaj joined in. “Hi, this is Nicki Minaj. What if we played a game? She posted a tweet. She claimed that she will always share one of her own stories—about Roc Nation, Jay-Z, and CEO Desiree Perez—when Dez shares a tale about Jerry Jones or the NFL.
The warning shot followed.
Nicki promised her 28 million fans that she will reveal her long-standing problems with Roc Nation during Dez’s story time. She especially mentioned Desiree Perez, accusing her of racism and vowing to be uncompromising. The tweet had a serious undertone despite its humorous threats and GIFs from the Saw movie.

Dez looked amused at first. In response, he posted a video in which he grinned and called Nicki a queen. “I’m a fan,” he wrote on Twitter. “I’m not interfering in her affairs or playing games with her.”
However, Twitter made it difficult for him to get away with it. Supporters made jokes about him being “already involved.” With tweets like “Go enjoy your day” and “How did I get caught up in the madness?” Dez attempted to dismiss it, but Nicki wasn’t finished.

She cited an article from 2020 that said Dez had jumped into a previous feud with her, which he refuted. She nevertheless demonstrated that she hadn’t forgotten, and the tone quickly changed from lighthearted to aggressive.
Nicki then accused Roc Nation of utilizing racism and power to control narratives in the Black community after tweeting, “Go beat your mom,” in reference to an old domestic argument Dez had with his mother. She raised concerns about hypocrisy and cover-ups in hip hop’s inner circles by questioning why Desiree Perez’s presidential pardon wasn’t more publicly reported.

At that point, Dez retaliated. He justified himself by stating that he was merely defending himself amid a tumultuous situation and that he had never been imprisoned or found guilty. However, he continued by attacking Nicki’s personal life by bringing up the criminal past of her husband, Kenneth Petty.
The gloves were taken off after that.

Nicki retaliated by mockingly giving Dez $10 million in cash in exchange for his opposing her husband. Dez lost his temper at that point. He was not going to back down. Dez answered in a tweet:
Yes, Dez Bryant invoked Roc Nation allegiance when he declared he would engage in a physical altercation with Nicki Minaj’s husband in front of her. Twitter took off.
And the blows continued.
“Go grab that ten million dollars in cash. It’s ROC for life bitch, and I’ll stomp that nigga out in front of you.

In a series of shocking tweets that followed, Nicki made a wide range of accusations including Dez’s own family history, Roc Nation officials, and political betrayals. She brought up the previously widely circulated claims regarding Dez’s childhood, claiming that he was projecting his suffering.
She wrote, “You’re angry with your father.”

What started off as NFL ranting evolved into one of 2025’s most tense and intimate feuds. Domestic accusations, references to sexual offenders, Roc Nation exposes, a $10 million fight challenge, and the public revelation of deep-seated pain are all now part of the Dez Bryant vs. Nicki Minaj case.
And tweet by tweet, it’s still happening in real time.
