Megan Thee Stallion Discusses Dating Klay Thompson, Another Aquarian, at the Foundation Gala

“This is probably the best move I ever made, yes,” the Houston legend said with a smile.

The fact that Megan Thee Stallion has a heart of gold and is more than just bars and bawdy is being demonstrated once more.

The three-time Grammy winner presented her first-ever Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City on Wednesday, July 16, trading in her typical hot girl antics for a charitable evening.

Raising money for worthy organizations was the main goal of the star-studded event, not merely to socialize with her fellow celebrities. In memory of her late parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete III, Megan established the Pete & Thomas Foundation, which focuses on wellbeing, housing, education, and health for marginalized populations. The gala raised more than $1,200,000 by the conclusion of the evening to support initiatives aimed at uplifting women, children, the elderly, and anybody else who needed assistance.

Megan smiled as she told VIBE why she felt it was so important to put her advocacy into action: “I feel like if you talk about it, you gotta be about it.” “I’ve been in a situation where I needed some help before, and I really wished that somebody could help me out,” she continued. I therefore wanted to bless others when I had the chance to be blessed.

The entertainment and cultural elite, including DJ D-Nice, who supplied the music, Lil Uzi Vert, and Taraji P. Henson, who hosted the event, were on the guest list. Muni Long also gave a performance. Mysonne, Tamika Mallory, Angie Martinez, and others attended to offer their support. The building also housed community leaders, such as Melba Wilson, the creator of Melba’s Restaurant, and Dara Mirjahangiry, the founder of Sei Less.

Harry Santa-Olalla hosted the auction, which increased the level of excitement. Klay Thompson shelled down a cool $50,000 for two tickets to Super Bowl LX, marking his official debut as Megan’s man on the black carpet. Not to be outdone, Lil Uzi Vert spent $30,000 on an Eliantte bracelet. For a ten-person private supper at Melba’s Restaurant, Fat Joe won a bid of $26,000. They made it rain, but for the right reasons, in typical hip-hop flair.

Megan also spent time recognizing community leaders who have been making a difference even before the gala was organized. MH Boxes founder Mila Henry, Southern Black Girls & Women’s Consortium founder LaTosha Brown, and Bread of Life Inc. founders Pastors Juanita and Rudy Rasmus were honored for their service and influence.

When asked about her and her NBA beau’s developing romance, Megan smiled as she served the tea, which was a necessary part of the evening. Given that the pair is both Aquarius, we were curious about the dynamics of their relationship.

“I didn’t know how it was going to work at first, but this is probably the best move I ever made, yes,” Megan said with a giggle.
