Justice for Nigerians Performer: The Mother-in-Law of Juma Jux Is in danger
A public struggle, a firm stand.
Iyabo Ojo, a Nollywood actress and social activist, has opposed upsetting internet recordings in which a group of men openly expressed their desire for her death and charged her with hindering justice in the case of the late musician Mohbad.
In the widely shared video, men are seen marching through Lagos holding signs that include pictures of Ojo and Mohbad. A representative for the group even attributed a recent fire at Ojo’s workplace to “divine retribution” and foretold more bad things would happen to her family.
Ojo explained her part in the #JusticeforMohbad campaign in a thorough Instagram message. She made public a police summons about claims of cyberbullying, although she emphasized that she has never directly blamed anyone for Mohbad’s passing. She clarified that her engagement was limited to urging people to assist police in clearing their reputations.
Standing Firm in the Face of Harassment
Ojo described constant threats, smear efforts, intimidation, and defamation since calling for a comprehensive probe into Mohbad’s death. Days before her daughter’s wedding, she even got a terrifying letter warning of impending difficulties.
Among her statement’s main points are:
The National Cybercrime Centre encouraged her to participate in a video in which she urged people to assist with the investigation into Mohbad’s death.
She formally asked for a coroner’s inquest and an independent probe through her Pinkies Foundation.
She never specifically blamed anyone for Mohbad’s passing; instead, her activities were directed toward pursuing justice through the appropriate channels.
Without official involvement, she has been the target of calls for her death, the destruction of her livelihood, and incitement of violence against her and her children despite her attempts.
Her family and business are still under danger, as evidenced by the recent office fire and threats, which she partially attributes to her political beliefs.
Despite the emotional toll and difficulties, such as her recent office fire, she continues to be willing to assist police and believes in divine protection.
She expressed gratitude to all who had supported her.
