The release date of Verity has been pushed back to 2026
“Verity,” starring Anne Hathaway, has been postponed.
Alongside Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, the Devil Wears Prada star will be featured in the upcoming adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling thriller. Originally scheduled to premiere on May 15, 2026, fans will now have to wait longer as Amazon MGM Studios has rescheduled the film, which is directed by Michael Showalter, for October 2, 2026.
Following author Verity Crawford, who has had to put down her pen for medical reasons, Lowen Ashleigh is offered the opportunity to finish the final three books in a well-loved book series.
When Lowen moves into the renowned writer’s home to review Verity’s notes, he finds that the author has been rendered entirely unconscious after a car accident. He also finds out that Verity’s two twin girls passed away just months after her near-fatal experience.
As a result of these revelations, Lowen quickly falls in love with Verity’s husband Jeremy. She also discovers an autobiographical manuscript written by the author that contains sinister details about the author’s personal life.
The film is one of several Colleen’s books that are being made into motion pictures after the success of the third, It Ends With Us, last year.
The author co-wrote the screenplay for Reminders of Him, which starred Maika Monroe.
The movie, which Vanessa Caswill will direct, centers on Kenna Rowan, who returns to her hometown after serving five years in jail for a horrible event in the hopes of seeing her kid again, but encounters opposition from those who want to keep her away.
Kenna is forced to face her past in search of atonement and a second opportunity as she develops an unexpected bond with Ledger Ward, a local bar owner. Their burgeoning bond threatens to upend the delicate trust of all around them.
Additionally, Regretting You, which is based on the author’s 2019 novel of the same name, will feature Allison Williams, Scott Eastwood, Dave Franco, Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames, and Willa Fitzgerald.
The book examines the themes of first love and bereavement while tracing the tumultuous relationship between Morgan Grant and her adolescent daughter Clara.
