Do you drive a Ford? A recall of over 850,000 cars was been issued due to an engine-stalling defect

A Large Ford Recall Affects Explorers, Lincolns, F-150s, and Broncos Due to Dangerous Fuel Pump Failure

According to the AP, Ford is removing over 850,000 cars from the road nationwide because of a serious fuel pump flaw that might cause engines to halt unexpectedly, creating a major collision risk.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released documents indicating that the recall covers a number of recent model years and involves well-known Ford and Lincoln cars.

Affected vehicles include the Lincoln Aviator and Navigator, as well as the Ford Bronco, F-150, and Explorer.

The main cause of the problem is a malfunctioning low-pressure fuel pump, which could cause the engine to abruptly cut off, even while you’re driving. Accidents are more likely as a result, particularly if the failure occurs in busy traffic or at high speeds.

Ford intends to begin sending formal recall letters to owners on Monday, July 14. The hitch is that the solution hasn’t been decided upon yet. Ford has not given a precise timeframe for when repairs would be available, and the NHTSA claims that a solution is still being developed.

Ford will issue a second letter to owners explaining how to get their car repaired for free at an approved dealership as soon as the remedy is confirmed.

It’s a good idea to verify your status by looking up your VIN number on Ford’s recall page or the NHTSA recall website if you drive one of the impacted models. Keep an eye out for any warning indications from your fuel system until the repair is available, since this is not a flaw to overlook.
