Ghana receives a $367 million payment from the IMF following its fourth review
The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund said Monday that it has finished the fourth review of its Extended Credit Facility agreement with Ghana, allowing for the immediate disbursement of approximately $367 million.
Ghana’s finance minister had announced on X that the IMF will disburse $370 million to the nation.
The latest investment raises the total amount disbursed to the West African country under the agreement to almost $2.3 billion, according to the fund.
The Fitch rating was revised after the IMF authorized a $3 billion, three-year bailout for Ghana in May 2023, which helped stabilize the country’s economy.
